Our mission
We publish books that stay with you long after you’ve finished reading them. Non-fiction with a point of view, written for readers who value arguments over mere opinion. Whitesides is a new publishing house with a long-standing commitment: that books should remain tools for understanding, not tools for marketing.
What we publish
Non-fiction books on business, technology and society. Written in the author’s own voice, with a clear stance, and carefully edited. We publish only a few titles each year because we spend more time on each one than is customary these days. A book deserves to have someone take the time to devote to it – whether in writing, editing or reading.
What we’re not interested in: an overabundance of advice, attention-grabbing stunts, and jumping on the bandwagon. What we are interested in: arguments that still hold water three years down the line.
Who we are
Whitesides Publishers is an independent non-fiction publishing house founded in Berlin in 2026. We believe that the book is a format with a future, especially at a time when everything else is becoming shorter, faster and louder. Those who write a book take their time. Those who read one give time back. This commitment is the foundation of our business.
How we work
We select only a few titles. We edit them carefully. We have our books produced in France by Pulsioprint, print paperbacks through Books on Demand in Norderstedt, and record the audiobooks ourselves. We don’t produce hardbacks simply because they look prestigious, but because our authors write books that deserve this format.
Each of our books is published in five editions: standard hardback, limited edition hardback (signed and numbered, 500 copies), paperback, eBook and audiobook. The limited edition is available exclusively via our book websites and features coloured edges and a bonus insert.
What sets us apart from other publishers
Three things: We say no to manuscripts that simply follow trends. We talk to our authors as equals, not from a position of superiority. And we don’t treat readers as target audiences, but as people who deserve to be taken seriously.
